If you were like us we didn't have pastures to rotate cattle.  We limit herd size to one cow per acre for grazing purposes.  Also you must fertilize your grass each year to ensure you have good grazing grass.

ABOUT A STRANGE AFFLICTION CALLED

 "TRACTORTICULITUS"

I CAUGHT IT AND NOW I HAVE FOUR TRACTORS!!!!

HOW MANY TRACTORS DO YOU REALLY NEED?

We set aside land exclusively to grow Coastal Bermuda for winter forage.  Well fertilized grass will yield with rain 4 to 6 bales per acre during the growing season.  You will need 6 to 8 bales per head over a typical winter season.  You will still need to supplement your hay with grains or range cubes during the winter months.  Coverage crops for winter forage is another option but to date we have not found it economical for our smaller herd size.
